|Nandis bird paintings on wood|
It all started with me finding a piece of drift wood on a beach and thinking it would be fun to paint the view on it.Then I began to notice more and more interesting bits of wood around that I could paint on, pieces left over from D I Y jobs, wood destined for the fire.
I now scrounge from wood turning friends,
and wood yards. I have even found old draw fronts excellent, as you can have a bird perching on where the knob once was.!
Some how it had to be birds.
With all the beautiful grain, knots and swirls they both seem to complement and blend so well together.
